Key features we considered during the design phase of the project included:

  • Top-level product category listing featuring a clear hierarchy of products
  • Product pages including photos, specifications, prices, reviews, cross-sell recommendations
  • Wish lists / Save for later / Favourites
  • Stock status
  • Reserve and collect at store
  • Order history

The second generation of the mobile site will look at including:

  • Registration for further info or mobile alerts
  • Maps of retail network
  • One-click purchasing
  • Multiple payment methods
  • Share functionality 
  • Social Media
  • Direct links to customer service or call-back requests
  • Real time chat support

We decided to go for a granular approach of starting simple and only adding more sophistication once we better understood how the mobile site was being used.  As with all well-designed websites, there rarely is a “one-size fits all” solution.
